A new dimension of fun

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. If this is how you feel about coming to the Smokies, then keep reading! There’s so much more to East Tennessee than what meets the eye—and we mean this literally with the exciting 3D and 5D exhibits that are coming to town! Check out these exciting thrill rides for yourself when you come to the Smoky Mountains. There are several options to choose from, and all are great for visitors of all ages. (For kids younger than five, we recommend checking with the individual attractions for possible age restrictions.) They’ll offer fun and unique experiences for the whole family in Pigeon Forge!

Castle of Chaos (5D)
As part of the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, the Castle of Chaos was the first 5D attraction in the world! This ride combines the experience of a 3D film, a ride, and a video game all in one for a haunted thrill ride like no other! Your mission on this ride is to explore a mysterious Pigeon Forge castle, checking for paranormal activity. You’ll get to smell, hear, feel, and see this castle as you fight the haunted beings within. Parents, use your discretion as to whether your young kids will find this more scary than fun. At the end, those with the most points in the fight against evil are displayed on the screen.

Ripley’s Moving Theater (5D)
At Ripley’s, you’ll have two different options at their Moving Theater. You can try either Roadhoggers or the Winter Wipeout adventure—and both are great for younger kids! Their state-of-the-art theaters have digital effects and motion seats, so you’ll feel like you’re in the movie, not just watching it. Be sure to buckle in so you can enjoy the ride at Ripley’s Moving Theater!

Circus Golf in Blacklight (3D)
An exciting 3D experience for kids and adults, Circus Golf in Blacklight is a mini golf course like none you’ve ever seen! Half mini golf and half circus fun house, you’ll have a great time the whole way through! For the 3D blacklight course, you’ll be given 3D glasses at the start of your mini golf experience. You’ll want to keep score for some friendly competition, but at the end of the day, this course is all about having a great time together! Perfect for kids as young as three, Circus Golf in Blacklight is also reasonably priced. Call (865) 436-4414 for more information about tickets for Circus Golf as well as combo tickets that include access to the Amazing Mirror Maze right next door.

Fort Fun 3D Theater
If you’re bringing little ones to the Smokies, Fort Fun 3D Theater is the place to be for your 3D adventure. This 3D theater is not too big and gives kids the chance to interact in a big way with the movies they are watching. And Fort Fun offers a variety of different 3D movies, depending on what your kids might like to watch. The movies now showing include Alice in Wonderland, Enchanted Castle, Ganymede, Prehistoria Adventure, and Shark Island. Check back on their website for the movies that will be showing during your Smoky Mountain vacation. Fort Fun is the perfect place to bring your kids for the coolest big-screen experience they’ve ever had!

Shoot ‘Em Up Cinema (5D)
Fun for all ages and not too expensive, Shoot ‘Em Up Cinema is a great place to go if you’re looking for some big laughs! You’ll get your own horse and pistol and compete against your friends and family to see who has the highest score at the end. Packed with special effects, this thrill ride is chock-full of fun!
