The first weekend in August kicks off with the sales tax holiday all throughout Tennessee! From August 2nd to August 4th you can enjoy purchasing clothing, school supplies and computers all without paying a penny of sales tax. Head on over to the Pigeon River Crossing Outlets and stock up on all of you and your family’s back-to-school needs!

The 4th Annual Smoky Mountain Cornhole Tournament and Stringtime in the Smokies go hand-in-hand! The famed cornhole tournament kicks off at Old Mill Square on the early afternoon on August 3rd, while the Stringtime music begins at 7:00PM. Enjoy free music from renowned bluegrass artists – the music is free to enjoy, just bring a lawn chair to kick back and relax!

Have you ever wanted to run through the downtown Parkway of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee? Here’s your chance! Register to run in the Pigeon Forge Midnight 8K Road Race on August 3rd, a five mile run along the glittering lights of the downtown Parkway after dark. Take in the stars as you jog past all of your favorite businesses and restaurant – we promise there’s nothing quite like it!

For the Civil War enthusiast in your family, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to check out the Smoky Mountain Relic Show. This event, hosted at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, is held on August 24th and 25th. The sale will feature authentic Civil War memorabilia, such as muskets, rifles, photographs, flags, uniforms and more.
