For the third year in a row, Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival has been voted best Christmas event. The Humana sponsored event started on November 6 and runs through January 1, 2011. The festival at the Pigeon Forge Dollywood features four million twinkling lights.
The Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas festival is in near our Pigeon Forge cabins in Dollywood park that features over 40 rides. Rides include Thunderhead roller coaster and Mystery Mine roller coaster. Another special experience is the 4D Polar Express which takes guests on a trip through the North Pole. The park also has a nightly Christmas parade of lights in which fun characters and great Christmas floats parade through the Pigeon Forge Dollywood park, and the Dollywood restaurants will serve Christmas food for guests to enjoy.
Santa Clause is also going to be at the Dollywood Christmas Festival at the Pigeon Forge Dollywood park during the season. Kids will get to visit with Santa in his living room at the North Pole. The room has a fireplace and Santa’s desk in it. Kids can talk with Santa and also write him a letter. He’ll be around for the kids up until Christmas Eve.
The theme park will be hosting shows as part of their Dollywood Christmas Festival in Pigeon Forge. Shows will include O’ Holy Night, Christmas in the Smokies, An Appalachian Christmas, Twas the Night Before Christmas, Carol of the Trees and Christmas with the Kingdom Heirs. Another show Dollywood will host is it’s infamous Babes in Toyland which is a production that cost over 1million dollars to put on. The show follows two characters as they explore the magic and mystery of toyland. Acrobats, puppetry, and toy soldiers don the stage of this production.
