Labor Day weekend is always a busy one in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. With the weather just beginning to cool off and the kids out of school for a long weekend, Labor Day is the ideal time to travel to Pigeon Forge with your family. If you’re visiting this Labor Day 2012, you won’t want to pass up the 8th Annual Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival!

Beginning Friday August 31st through Sunday September 2nd, the Gatlinburg Fine Art Festival is the place to go for unique crafts, paintings, music and, of course, food! With free admission, the event takes place in downtown Gatlinburg at Traffic Light. Held at the Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, event hours are 10:00AM-5:00PM Friday, 10:00AM-7:00PM Saturday, and 10:00AM-4:00PM on Sunday.

This outdoor event is fun for the whole family and features a wide variety of both kid and adult activities. The festival benefits the Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, the Sevier County Arts Concil, and the Gatlinburg Boys & Girls Club.

If you’re coming for the art, you won’t be disappointed! Exhibiting artists will display a variety of paintings, clothing, jewelry, sculptures, glass work and more. Pick up a souvenir necklace for your best friend at home or a new glass vase for Grandma. The unique Gatlinburg artists spend many hours perfecting their work and you are sure to go home with a one-of-a-kind piece.

As always, no Smoky Mountain event is complete without music! Appalachian music makers will be at the festival, picking their banjos and reminiscing about the days of old. The unique mountain music is an experience that you and your family will remember for a lifetime.

With all of these attractions, you’re bound to work up an appetite! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer a never ending array of restaurants and eateries- this festival will be no exception! Texas Roadhouse sponsors this year’s Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival. You will love their fresh-made rolls, delicious barbeque, burgers and chicken.

With free admission, this will be the place to be on Labor Day weekend! For more information about the Fine Art Festival, please visit: https://www.gfaf.net/Visitors_Info/Visitors_Home.html
