Living History Civil War Reenactment

Are you starting your plans for next summer? Considering coming in the middle of June. If you are visiting Pigeon Forge, TN during the week of during June 13th through June 15th, you will be able to experience over 150 period performers recreating the Civil War. For three days tons of exciting meetings and battles will occur between the North and the South. Period performers will re enact some of the highlights of the Civil War. They will also set up camp and re enact the “Battle of Burg Hill”. Other activities that will be taking place is a parade and meeting of the generals. Not only is this event interesting to watch, but it is very informative. Each day holds a different activity. The Living History program will be held on Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. At the living history program you can actually experience the feeling of setting around an old civil war camp. Friday afternoon around 6 pm the “Siege of Gatlinburg” will take place. The performing soldiers will march through downtown starting at traffic light 6 and will end at the park. The “Battle of Burg Hill” will take place around 2 pm on Saturday. The North will face off with the South in a full blown battle, as each side tries to defend their territory. Each side will loose blood and sweat trying to claim their prize. Each side will dress in their colors and fire cannons and rifles in defense of their territory. If you are a huge fan of history the reenactment is an activity that you will really enjoy while vacationing in the Smokies. This event will be happening just minutes from your Pigeon Forge cabin.
