New Restaurants Coming to Pigeon Forge

The Island, Pigeon Forge’s family-friendly center featuring restaurants, shopping, and attractions, is growing this summer with the addition of four new restaurants! Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Dick’s Last Resort, and The Hard Rock Café will offer dozens of new options for Smoky Mountain visitors. The Island neighbors the famous Dollywood theme park, and is in the vicinity of many other well-known restaurants that will be opening in the coming months.

The next few months are expected to bring a large amount of revenue to the city, with the opening of several popular attractions. And with over 10 million visitors to the city of Pigeon Forge yearly, business at The Island is sure to boom!

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen
With an impressive 20,000 square feet, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen will provide space for future expansion. The restaurant will cost a whopping 20 million dollars annually to operate, and we are told that it will boast a retail component as well! Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is scheduled to open in the late months of summer 2014 and will feature her signature Southern style.

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville
Originally planned for Gatlinburg, TN, due to alcohol restrictions, Jimmy Buffett’s famous Margaritaville is now set to open at The Island on July 1, 2014. When a law passed in 2013 allowing liquor to be sold by the drink in Pigeon Forge, the location was quickly changed to the promising spot at The Island. Along with casual dining, the restaurant will feature a bar, live entertainment, and a retail store!

Dick’s Last Resort
The second Tennessee location for this chain, Dick’s Last Resort at The Island will offer the same unique style of customer service that the Gatlinburg location is famous for – a great meal accompanied by insults and a bad attitude from your waiter. All is in good fun, of course, and you’ll be falling off your chair with laughter. This gimmick is all a ploy to keep customers entertained and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant light. Some of the menu items include a juicy 12 oz. ribeye, fried catfish, barbecue chicken, and even crab legs!

The Hard Rock Café
Making the short journey from Gatlinburg because of the need for more space, The Hard Rock Café is set to open in spring 2014! The new location will be in the old Tony Roma’s building on the Parkway with 12,000 square feet – enough space to seat 302 customers. It will feature private event space, free parking, patio seating, a live music stage, and an interactive touchscreen wall allowing guests to “explore and experience the world’s greatest music memorabilia collection.”
