A great weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN

My parents, my boyfriend and I decided to take a last minute weekend trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. As I sat down at my computer I began to search for a cabin. After hours of searching through over fifty cabins on the Pigeon Forge Cabins For You website, I found the perfect cabin. I called Pigeon Forge Cabins For You to rent “Over the Top”. The reservationists at Pigeon Forge Cabins For You were more helpful than any other company I had previously called. The lady I spoke to on the phone did a wonderful job in answering all the questions I had about the cabin and the area that surrounded it. Late Friday night we left our home in Georgia and headed out for our four hour drive to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Around 12:30 am we arrived at “Over the Top” for our weekend getaway. The cabin was much more than we had expected. From the moment we walked in we felt right at home. After unpacking and getting settled we decided to take a dip in the outdoor hot tub. The hot tub was nicely positioned on the far corner of the screened in porch. It was very clean and relaxing. After a long day at work and a long drive to Pigeon Forge it sure was nice to just kick back and relax for a while. After getting out of the hot tub we played a quick game of air hockey. Around 2:00 am everyone decided to head to bed because Saturday was going to be a busy day. The next morning my dad decided to try to wake me up by throwing a pillow at me. I was sleeping so soundly on the upstairs couch that I barely even moved. My parents had a wonderful night’s rest on the pillow top king sized mattress in the upstairs bedroom. Even my boyfriend, who slept on the downstairs couch, did not wake up … until he heard my dad yell, “good morning sleeping beauty!!”. The view from the cabin was such a wonderful thing to wake up to. You could see miles and miles of the Great Smoky Mountains and it was truly something special. As we ventured down the mountain we headed straight for The Old Mill Restaurant for a delicious breakfast. The Old Mill Restaurant is a new favorite for me and I will always eat there when traveling to Pigeon Forge. After our huge breakfast we headed to the outlet malls for a little shopping. Tanger Outlet Center has so many shops for everyone. My mom and I spent hours going to every store while my dad and boyfriend sat on a bench and waited. After a full morning of shopping, lunchtime finally arrived so we headed toward Huck Finn’s Catfish. Huck Finn’s Catfish serves large helpings of country style food and my dad’s favorite was the all you can eat catfish. We had more than enough to eat. We felt refreshed and headed back out for more fun in downtown. We soon found ourselves at the Comedy Barn. The Comedy Barn was two hours of hysterically funny acts and skits. I loved it more than I could have imagined! (and the popcorn was just as good) As the afternoon ended we headed back up to “Over the Top” to get ready for our dinner plans at Dixie Stampede. We relaxed as we watched movies on the big screen TV, played games of foosball and air hockey. Dinner that night at Dixie Stampede was enough to feed a family of fourteen. They served us a full course meal with dessert and we got to watch a very entertaining dinner show and be apart of a Southern tradition and the North and the South sided against each other. Heading back to the cabin that night I started to feel sad because I knew the weekend was over and we would be heading home Sunday morning. When we returned back to the cabin I decided to make the most of my last night so I spent some more time in the hot tub, trying to put off packing as long as I could. I finally packed my clothes and headed to be and quickly drifted off to sleep. As Sunday morning approached we gathered our luggage and left the cabin for our breakfast destination of Cracker Barrel. Yet another delicious meal consumed in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Heading home that day I decided that one day in Pigeon Forge was just not enough. Another trip to the area will be planned very soon and Pigeon Forge Cabins For You will be the first company I will call for a perfect cabin in Pigeon Forge.
