Applewood Farmhouse in Pigeon Forge, TN

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is known for its amount of history and there is one restaurant that has a great deal of history behind it and since then it has grown and become a famous and delicious family restaurant. Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant lies along Apple Valley Road, just outside Pigeon Forge in Sevierville, Tennessee. When the town was first established Apple Valley Road was the main road that was between Sevierville and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The original farmhouse that was first built at this location burned down but it was replaced in 1921 by a six room house, which is still there as the centerpiece of the restaurant. A turning point occurred in 1972 when the Bon Hicks and Bill Kilpatrick families purchased the 65-acre property and decided to run it as a beef cattle and tobacco farm. It was ran as a beef cattle and tobacco farm until 1976-1978 when they decided to put their time and investments into apple orchards. The restaurant was finally established in 1986 when the Stokely Hospitality Enterprises helped the Hicks and Kilpatricks open the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant by adding on to the original farmhouse. This Pigeon Forge, Tennessee restaurant is surrounded by apple trees and you will soon understand where this delicious family orientated restaurant got its name. Hallowen in Pigeon Forge October - November fun


Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg celebrate Halloween just like any other Holiday out of the year. Both communities really get into the spirit by decorating the stores, landmarks, and road with fall items like corn stalks, scare crows, pumpkins, and hay bales. Both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg will be hosting their own trick - or - treat festivities. Each city has there yearly “trunk or treat” at their community buildings. At each festival you can enjoy story telling, hayrides, and delicious spooky treats. Kids and adults are both encourage to come in full costume. Adults can also join in the fun as business are throwing a costume party and contest.
