Rod Run in Pigeon Forge – Spring of 2010

This weekend people from all over the world will come to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to participate in the city’s very popular Grand Rod Run event. Every Spring the city host for the Grand Rod Run is Pigeon Forge. During the weekend event, people who own classic cars park them up and down the Pigeon Forge Parkway so that people can view them from the road or park and view them up close. The Pigeon Forge Rod Run is so popular in the Spring that many people come to Pigeon Forge on Tuesday so that they get a great seat for the weekend event.

The Pigeon Forge Rod Run happens every Spring. Pigeon Forge is such a great host city for this event because of the long parkway that visitors can easily navigate to see all of the cars. The city provides just enough parking for all of the visitors and yet keeps the event in a small enough vicinity that people can walk to see a good amount of the vehicles on display. Not only can visitors look at cars, shops and restaurants are conveniently located on the Parkway so while dad may be looking at a car, mom and kids can stop in the local shop for a snack and some rest.

Displaying hot rods isn‘t the only reason people show a car at the Pigeon Forge Rod Run, many are selling cars. A visitor can easily find out how much each vehicle is selling for, and most of them have sale prices displayed in the window. Some vehicles at the rod run are in top shape, and others may be missing an engine.

It’s a great idea to stay at a cabin during the Pigeon Forge Rod Run weekend. Walking the Parkway can be quite exhausting so it’s nice to be able to soak in a hot tub or cuddle by the fireplace after a long day of hot rod shopping.

  1. We are coming to car show this weekend, we are staying in Gatlinburg. Where is public parking so we can park and then walk up and down the strip? Thanks
