Want the chance to take pictures with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Celine Dion? Well, you may just get the opportunity to do just that while staying at a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN. The city is expecting a new attraction in 2012. The attraction location was a 2.3 million dollar investment and it will be home to Pigeon Forge’s new wax museum.
The old location of the Dinosaur Museum in Pigeon Forge is now home to the Pigeon Forge wax museum. The property at 106 Showplace Blvd. was bought by investors looking to bring another popular visitor stop to Pigeon Forge, TN.
The wax museum in Pigeon Forge was previously located in downtown Gatlinburg, but the owners have moved the attraction to Pigeon Forge and plan on amping up the experience. Visitors will move through the museum by stepping from movie set to movie set. VIP guests will get to see the city of Pigeon Forge and the beautiful Smoky Mountains from an “observation deck”.
While plans are moving forward, there have been some minor setbacks. The designers initially went all out with the plans. Mt. Rushmore would be on one side of the building and would feature movie stars while a glass window with the word “Hollywood” would serve as the topper to the entrance of the building. Above that would be a skyscraper with a gorilla on it. Talk about BIG. However, the city labeled the “Hollywood” as a sign, and the planners had proposed this sign to be too large compared to the size Pigeon Forge permits.
Either way, the new attraction is sure to bring in visitors. The wax museum in Gatlinburg featured many famous singers, actors and actresses including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Celine Dion and some very memorable movie characters like Forest Gump and Charlies’ Angels.
We can’t wait to hear more news about the wax museum! Coming to Pigeon Forge soon? Give us a call to book your next cabin.
