The beginning of November marks the start of the beloved holiday season. The holidays are always a special time in Pigeon Forge, and the residents and businesses go all-out to ensure this time of year is a special one. Beginning today, November 6, 2012 and running through February 28, 2012 this event kicks off with the 2nd Annual Salute to Veterans Parade. Paying tribute to the men and women who served in the armed forces, this parade begins at the south end of the Pigeon Forge Parkway and travels north, ending in famous Patriot Park.
The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to wrap up around 5:00 p.m. The parade’s end at Patriot Park will feature food vendors, musical entertainment, and a photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs. Claus! In addition, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital has sponsored a play area for the children to enjoy.
The highlight of the event will be the lighting of more than five million breathtaking Christmas lights. The evening will end with a fireworks display, which both you and the children will love!
This kick-off event marks the beginning of the celebration of Pigeon Forge’s Winterfest festivities. From now until the end of February, you and your family can enjoy a magical display of lights without the hassle of the drive! Pigeon Forge is unique in its offering of the Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights.
This heated and enclosed trolley will take you and your family to and from Patriot Park – just leave your car there and leave the driving to the professionals! Your trolley comes with its own personal tour guide, who will share stories about Pigeon Forge’s history and allow you to check out our world-famous Winterfest lights display.
Tours depart at 6:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each evening. There must be a minimum of 15 passengers for the trolley to run, so make sure you bring the whole family along for this enjoyable experience. Tickets for the Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights can be purchased the day of your tour.
