Mountain Valley Winery

Mountain Valley Winery | 2174 Parkway | Pigeon Forge, TN

In downtown Gatlinburg, moonshine is king. Whether you call it white lightning, shine, corn liquor, mountain dew, or bathtub gin, you’ll find it along the Parkway. Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery, Ole Smoky Moonshine, and Sugarlands Distilling Company all offer up this drink with a serious kick. But if you’re looking for something a bit smoother, the Smokies still has you covered.

Just down the road in Pigeon Forge, Mountain Valley Winery – part of the Rocky Top Wine Trail – offers free tastings with tours of the wine cellar. Stop in for a taste and you may get a chance to see how the wine is made. And while they primarily offer German- and French-style wines, they also have a nice variety of dry, sweet, and semi-sweet wines. In fact, it is one of the largest wineries in Tennessee, producing more than 500 award-winning wines since its founding by Don Collier in 1991.

Mountain Valley Winery is also in the heart of Pigeon Forge, just down from the Titanic Museum Attraction and WonderWorks. It will be easy to try some samples, grab a bottle to take home, and then explore the other great attractions along the Parkway in downtown Pigeon Forge.

Wines at Mountain Valley
Mountain Valley Winery has a wine for every meal or moment, from elegant dry wines to celebratory sweets. Taste a few while you’re at the winery before you decide which bottle to take back to your relaxing Pigeon Forge cabin. They offer tours from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. every day, and even kids are welcome on the tours! Anyone 21 and over with a valid photo ID can also enjoy the free tastings.

If you’re here for a honeymoon or anniversary, get a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the special occasion. Then head back to the cabin to curl up in front of the fire, watch a romantic comedy in your private home theater, or have a glass after relaxing in your hot tub on the deck. For girls’ weekends, you’ll find something for everyone, and you can make an afternoon of visiting Mountain Valley Winery before grabbing a few bottles to enjoy while you catch up at the cabin.
