Trail Mix Recipes – Hiking in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park offers more than 800 miles of well-maintained hiking trails – the perfect opportunity (or excuse!) to whip up some delicious trail mix for Pigeon Forge vacation.

Trail Mix for Energy
2 cups of Cheerios cereal (any kind!)
½ cup of pretzels
½ cup of raisins
½ cup of peanuts (honey roasted or smoked)
½ cup yogurt chips
¼ shelled sunflower seeds
½ cup dried banana chips

Gourmet Trail Mix
2 cups roasted peanuts
1 cup almonds
1 cup cashews
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup dried pineapple
¼ cup shredded coconut

Fruity Trail Mix
1 cup dried blueberries
1 cup dried raspberries
1 cup dried strawberries
1 cup dried apple slices
1 cup roasted almonds
1 cup dried banana chips

 

Spicy Trail Mix
2 cups pretzels
3 cups multigrain Cheerios (or similar cereal)
1 cup roasted peanuts
1 cup baby pumpkin seeds
¼ cup butter
½ teaspoon red pepper
2 teaspoons paprika
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Melt butter in microwave. Mix in spices and Worcestershire – mix in to other ingredients in a large bowl. Toast for 10-15 minutes and prepare for a delightfully spicy treat!
