The third annual Stringtime in the Smokies event is just around the corner! Make your plans to vacation to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and don’t miss this once a year event. Held at the famous Old Mill in Pigeon Forge, boasting free admission and fun and games, Stringtime in the Smokies is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

If you love bluegrass music, make your reservations for August 4, 2012. Stringtime in the Smokies is a celebration of historic Smoky Mountain traditions and bluegrass music that the South knows and loves. Artists are to be announced, but that doesn’t stop the fun and games from continuing!

Everyone’s favorite part of Stringtime in the Smokies is the competitive cornhole tournament. The Smoky Mountain Cornhole Tournament is held in memory of Sergeant Brett Benton. Whether you’re an amateur or professional when it comes to cornhole, there is a division for everyone!

The professional division offers and impressive grand prize – great incentive to hone up on your skills! Pre-registration fee is $50 dollars (before July 20th) and $60 dollars after, with the last day of registration being on August 2nd at 8:00PM. First prize for the Professional Cornhole Teams is $1000 dollars and a meal for four at The Old Mill Restaurant. Second prize is $500 dollars and a meal for two at The Old Mill Restaurant. Finally, third prize is $250 and bragging rights for next year!

The amateur division is slightly less competitive, but still lots of fun! Registration dates remain the same with a slightly lower pricing, $30 dollars for pre-registration and $40 after July 20th. There will be prize drawings for those entered in the amateur division throughout the day, but there are also cash prizes in store! First prize gets 15 percent of total registration fees, second prize gets 10 percent, and third prize gets 5 percent! A word of caution – the number of amateur teams is limited, so make sure you register early!
