Holiday Happenings: Upcoming 2019 Events in Pigeon Forge

Happy Holidays…almost. Halloween is fast approaching, which means Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all your favorite fall and winter holidays will be here before you know it. The holidays always sneak up on us too fast, right?!

We have a suggestion for your holidays this year: mix it up and come to the Great Smoky Mountains! There are SO MANY things to do here! Fall festivals, car shows, food and wine festivals, kid-friendly activities, parades…the list just goes on and on. And pair all that fun with the amazing cool-weather scenery of the Smokies (fall colors, anyone?!), and you just can’t beat a holiday in the mountains.

Cabins also book up fast, so if you haven’t already booked the perfect Pigeon Forge cabin, please do that now! While you start planning, read on to find some great ideas of what to do while you’re here. These 2019 fall and winter events are sure to offer something for everyone.

HAPPENING IN PIGEON FORGE

Dollywood Harvest Festival | Dollywood | September 27 – November 2
Included with regular park admission, Dollywood’s Harvest Festival puts a special touch to this wonderful time in the Smokies. Enjoy seasonal foods, live music, talented artists, the new Great Pumpkin Luminights, and the Southern Gospel Jubilee – the largest Southern gospel event in America!

Pigeon Forge Community Spooktacular Event | throughout Pigeon Forge | October 24
As you stroll along the Parkway, be sure to stop in at some of the local shops for some family-friendly trick or treating! Many shops will have candy and treats for the kiddos, and there will be many interactive Halloween displays and some costumed characters.

7th Annual Halloween at The Island | The Island | October 31
Stop by The Island for a costume contest, parade, and special candy maps that lead kids to their favorite treats at shops around The Island!

Pigeon Forge Winterfest | throughout Pigeon Forge | November 22, 2019 – February 17, 2020
Finish off the year at Pigeon Forge’s winter celebration, with the Trolley Tour of Lights, decorated shop windows, seasonal foods at holiday events, handmade gifts at craft shows, and more!

Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede | Dolly Parton’s Stampede | Now – December 31
If you’ve never been to Dolly Parton’s dinner show, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the holidays are a great time to visit. Their show is extra special this time of year, with holiday decorations, amazing holiday costumes, a live nativity, camels and angels, dueling North and South Pole elves, Santa, and a hearty holiday meal!

GOING ON IN GATLINBURG

The Legend of Hallow Mountain | Anakeesta | Now – November 2
Anakeesta is one of the newest attractions in the area, and it will be especially fun this fall! All day you’ll find character visits (non scary for the kids), crafts and activities, fall foods, and all the favorite Anakeesta attractions. At night, enjoy the new Firefly Forest, gem mining, Halloween movies at the overlook, and haunted zipline and mountain coaster rides! Even Vista Gardens becomes Hallow Mountain Graveyard for guests 12 and older!

Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival | downtown Gatlinburg | Now – November 21
Celebrate all things fall with foods, music, decorations, and family fun all throughout downtown Gatlinburg!

OktOBERfest at Ober | Ober Gatlinburg | September 27 – November 3
Grab a bier and brat at this all-things-Bavarian festival at Gatlinburg’s Ober Gatlinburg attraction! There will be live music, seasonal and Bavarian foods, German biers, kid-friendly fun, a Bier Garten (21 and over), games, dancing, and so much more!

Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament | Gatlinburg | October 4-5
Cast a line in the cool waters of the Smokies for some fun and friendly competition at this annual fishing tournament!

Ripley’s Fright Nights | Ripley’s Haunted Adventure | October 4 – 27
Get your spook on any night during October at Ripley’s Haunted Adventure Fright Nights! They kick up their scaring during the year’s spookiest month, so get ready!
