Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has always been a favorite destination for history buffs. The centuries-old cabins, gristmills, churches, and schools found in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park attract thousands of visitors each year. But outside of the park, you’ll find historic treasures like the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts right in the heart of the city. Located on 556 Parkway in Gatlinburg, the Arrowmont School celebrated its 100th year as a place of education in 2012, and this year, the school cordially invites you to celebrate its 5th annual Shine, Wine and Dine Dinner on Friday, May 1, 2015.
What Is Arrowmont?
The Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is a national art education center situated on a 14-acre residential campus in the heart of Gatlinburg. At the school, visiting artists can attend one- or two-week workshops ranging from beginner-level to advanced. These classes are taught by national and international practicing studio artists as well as university faculty. The school also offers weekly classes for residents of the local community. These classes cover a wide range of topics, including

The public is welcome to visit Arrowmont’s campus throughout the year to view artwork by local, national, and international artists in the School’s five galleries. You are also able to visit the Artists-in-Residence studios and purchase artwork from past Artists-in-Residence. What Is Shine, Wine & Dine?
For the past five years, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts has hosted the Shine, Wine & Dine Live and Silent Auction. According to the school’s website, friends of the school and residents and guests of the community are invited to join “an evening of fun, fine arts and crafts, good food and drink in a relaxed and congenial atmosphere.” At the auction, visitors will have the opportunity to bid on artwork by regional and national artists, fine wines, and unique event packages.
This year, Arrowmont’s Shine, Wine & Dine will take place on Friday, May 1. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and the silent auction. Dinner and the live auction will follow later in the evening. The cost is $150 per person, and the guest list is limited to 225 guests. So get your ticket early by calling (865) 436-5860.
