A Family Lodge in Pigeon Forge

Many large groups make Pigeon Forge their vacation destination because of its variety of attractions, beautiful scenery, mild weather, and great restaurants. Of course, those large groups – in town for church retreats, family reunions, corporate weekends, or vacations with friends – need somewhere to stay. Our family lodges provide the space and amenities large groups need for a great stay in the mountains. From double appliances to game rooms, the amenities at these large group cabins offer comfort and convenience in the mountains. Why are they better than staying in hotels? Family lodges allow large groups to stay together instead of spreading out over lots of cramped hotel rooms. They offer communal spaces where guests can gather for devotionals, chatting, playing, and relaxing together. They also have spacious full kitchens and dining areas that allow groups to cook their own meals and dine together. This takes a lot of the stress out of trying to find seating at a restaurant for so many people.

Plimpton Lodge
In June 2002, the largest log cabin in Pigeon Forge was completed just in time for its first group – a family reunion – to cross its threshold. Since that time, Plimpton Lodge has earned a reputation of meeting the needs of many large groups that have stayed there, from family reunions to church retreats. With its 14 bedrooms and 12 ½ bathrooms, you can fit up to 44 people. It can even accommodate up to 12 couples who would all be able to have their own king, queen, or full-size beds. The other two bedrooms in Plimpton Lodge are bunk rooms, with four sets of bunk beds each, which are ideal for church retreats or kids. With so much sleeping space and a long list of amenities, Plimpton Lodge is great for youth groups, men’s or women’s retreats, family reunions, staff retreats or parties, group getaways with friends, and even wedding parties!

Along with plenty of sleeping space, Plimpton Lodge features many shared living spaces that are ideal for group gatherings. On the second floor, a large living room has sofas, comfy chairs, a card table, floor space for kids to play, and a big screen TV. As groups gather here, they can also enjoy the fantastic mountain views through the windows. The top floor is home to enough entertainment to keep groups from even having to leave the cabin! A spacious game room boasts a pool table, foosball table, shuffleboard, an air hockey table, and a big screen TV situated in front of a plush leather sofa. This room also looks out over the Smokies, offering some truly stunning mountain views. The downstairs living area is a warm place for groups to gather, with plenty of comfy seating and a large stone fireplace.

Plimpton Lodge also caters to a large group’s dining needs. It can be difficult to find enough seating for a large group at a downtown restaurant, but this family lodge is furnished with double appliances and a dining area that can seat up to 46 guests. The kitchen features two refrigerators, two ovens, two microwaves, two dishwashers, plenty of counter space, and large kitchen tables with benches and lots of chairs.

Outside spaces don’t disappoint, with two large decks looking out over the fantastic views of the Great Smoky Mountains. An eight-person hot tub is the spot to relax, and the rocking chairs are where guests sit down with a cup of coffee or a snack. For groups who like to grill out, Plimpton Lodge offers two charcoal grills.

With a great dining area, games, comfortable living areas, beautiful views, and great bedrooms, a large group could spend a day or an entire weekend without having to leave the cabin! When groups do want to leave the cabin, it’s just a short drive to downtown. Downtown Pigeon Forge is less than six miles away, and downtown Gatlinburg is less than 10 miles away. Both offer plenty of attractions that appeal to people of all ages, as well as some great restaurants and outdoor activities. Dollywood Theme Park is less than five miles away, and it’s a favorite with both kids and adults. Shows and rides offer a full day’s worth of fun for any large group!

Crestview Lodge
Similar to Plimpton Lodge, Crestview Lodge boasts eight bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms, and room for 46 guests. It also offers stunning views of the Great Smoky Mountains through the many windows in the cabin. From the deck, guests will enjoy the blue mountains in the distance. In fall, the landscape will transform with the rich variances of red, yellow, and orange, creating a truly magnificent sight. Guests can enjoy these views from several great spots on the deck – rocking chairs, a hot tub, and a picnic table. On nice days, this spacious deck will be the gathering spot for families, friends, and couples.

This family lodge also makes dining as a group easy, with a dining area that can seat the whole group. Five round dining tables seat eight people each, and the bar stools providing additional seating. Mealtime is always a great way to bring people together, and the dining area here allows large groups to come together for quality time. The kitchen is also well equipped for family reunions, church retreats, or group vacations. It boasts double appliances and tons of counter space for preparing meals or laying out snacks and buffet-style meals for groups. Best of all, huge windows around the room frame the stunning mountain views!

When families or large groups travel together, they often want private or separate spaces where they can spread out, unwind, and relax. Crestview Lodge offers that in many shared living spaces and bedrooms with a mix of king-size beds, queen-size beds, and bunk beds. Instead of one huge living room, the family lodge has four separate shared spaces where guests can relax – two sitting rooms, a rec room, and a media room. The sitting rooms are perfect for chatting and catching up. One is furnished with stylish leather sofas, a gas fireplace, and a complementary round coffee table. The other is on the other side of a partial wall, and it features comfy seating, a coffee table large enough for playing card games, and large windows that showcase the views. On the third floor, guests can gather for a movie night in the media room that features tons of comfortable seating, a big screen TV, wood beams, and more great views. But possibly the favorite room of large groups is the rec room, outfitted with leather seating, tons of windows, and tons of awesome games! This large space with exposed wood beams provides hours of entertainment for both children and adults. The room features a pool table, shuffleboard table, air hockey table, foosball table, big screen TV, putting green, and arcade games! What a fantastic room for groups to gather and play on a Pigeon Forge vacation.

Large groups are always looking for ways to keep everyone entertained, so besides the fun at this family lodge, downtown Pigeon Forge offers family-friendly attractions, restaurants, and shops. It’s just 6.5 miles away from Crestview Lodge, so it will be easy to load up the group and head into town on a whim.

These family lodges in Pigeon Forge have met the needs of countless groups over the years. From wedding parties to church retreats, Plimpton Lodge and Crestview Lodge have played host to vacations that have left lasting memories with those who have traveled here.
