This year’s event takes place August 19th through September 5th. After a much missed two year hiatus, the event is ready to return in full swing and better than ever! “The more folks asked me about bringing back my Barbecue & Bluegrass Festival, I realized Dollywood fans have a real hunger for bluegrass music and great tasting barbecue. Since I aim to please, I’m proud to say Barbecue & Bluegrass is back and better than ever at Dollywood!” announced Dolly Parton herself. Bringing in Grammy Award winning group Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder to perform four concerts, bluegrass lovers will be delighted at the artists and groups performing this year.
In addition to big names and famous stars, Dolly will also be featuring aspiring musicians, each playing on separate stages throughout the park. There will be more than twenty performances daily, so no matter when you choose to visit, you’re sure to catch an artist you love!
Of course, after listening to all that bluegrass, you and your family are sure to work up an appetite. Dollywood’s Market Square will be the center of the barbeque festivities, offering all the tasty and delicious treats you could hope to find. Enjoy barbeque pork, ribs and chicken as they come straight out off of the smoker and on to your plate. No southern meal is complete without an array of sides, so look forward to the staples of potato salad, baked beans, Texas toast and dill pickles.
The barbeque menu is also inviting some new Tennessee favorites this year, including smoked sausage and kielbasa. There will be a sauce tasting bar for those looking to find their favorite flavor, as well as delicious desserts. The big fan favorite? A delicious slice cut from a twenty-five pound apple pie!
