Dollywood’s Great American Summer


Dollywood has long been a favorite Pigeon Forge attraction for families. Dolly Parton outdid herself with the creation of this awesome attraction which features a wide array of shows, roller coasters, and activities and games for kids. It provides entertainment and excitement year-round for both children and adults. But during the summer, Dollywood brings even more family fun to Pigeon Forge. Dollywood’s Great American Summer is an entire season full of unique shows and music.

Gazillion Bubbles: New Dimension
Now – August 2

This interactive bubble show includes lasers, lighting effects, and incredible bubbles that are truly works of art! Every kid loves bubbles, so they’ll be completely amazed at this show!

Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors
Now – August 2

What says summer and family fun more than fireworks? Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors is a nightly fireworks show that will light up the skies above the Pigeon Forge attraction. End your day at Dollywood with a fantastic show in the starry night sky!

My People!
Now – January 3

Featuring Dolly’s sister, brother, and several other members of her family, My People! is the story of how Dolly’s family helped her find the courage to pursue her dreams. It begins at her roots in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, and follows her journey around the world.

Dreamland Drive-In
Now – October 24

Travel back to the times of sock hops, soda shops, and groovy tunes at the Dreamland Drive-In. You’ll feel nostalgic as you listen to the chart-topping songs of the 50s and 60s.

Kingdom Heirs
Now – October 31

Enjoy the best of Southern gospel music with the award-winning Kingdom Heirs quartet. The four-part harmonies will warm your heart and lift your spirits. Gospel classics are paired with the Kingdom Heirs’ own songs to create a unique and fun show.

Country Crossroads
Now – October 31

A blend of traditional, classic, and contemporary country music, Country Crossroads features six performers celebrating what has helped form the country music of today.

Smoky Mountain String Band
Now – October 31

Listen to the toe-tapping, hand-clapping sounds of the Smoky Mountains with the Smoky Mountain String Band performances.

This “multi-sensory film experience” features Dolly Parton taking guests on a journey through the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains.

The Little Engine Playhouse
Now – August 2

Great for the kids, the shows at The Little Engine Playhouse include three 20-minute musicals that bring children’s books to life!

Along with the special shows during Dollywood’s Great American Summer, Dollywood features rides and attractions that are great for family summer fun. The little ones will love the Amazing Flying Elephants, Beaver Creek, Boat Float, and Busy Bees. Adults and older kids will have fun on Daredevil Falls, Demolition Derby, Barnstormer, and Blazing Fury! Guests can also step back in time at the Calico Falls Schoolhouse or see Dolly’s many awards and costumes at Chasing Rainbows, an interactive museum. You can take a break from the rides and stop in one of the more than 30 shops – including Dolly’s Closet, Costner & Sons Magic Shop, Granny Owens Toys, and Hillside General Store – before getting a bite to eat at one of the great Southern restaurants or sweet shops. Summertime is also a great time to visit Dollywood’s Splash Country, which boasts rides and water features for the whole family. Between rides, you can cool off by renting one of the retreats or canopies available. The waterside spots are shaded and feature chairs, tables, and a way to order food without leaving your spot!
