Halloween – Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Halloween is right around the corner, and the people of Pigeon Forge love to celebrate!  One of the hallmark autumn celebrations, Halloween is a fabulous time to don your creative costume and enjoy some sweet treats and delicious eats. Along with unique and picturesque fall decorations, the city of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee offers some delightful Halloween celebrations!

For starters, head over to Ober Gatlinburg and take part in their OktOBERfest celebration. Held from September 28th through November 4th, OktOBERfest is celebrating its 3rd Annual event in 2012. A Gatlinburg style version of the popular festival in Munich, Germany, this event hosts singing and dancing acts in addition to delicious German food.

Enjoy the music of The Bavarian Fun Makers Band, who don authentic attire and perform traditional dances, sing-alongs and yodels. The Ober Gatlinburg Restaurant will be serving up some delightful biers in addition to traditional German eats. Enjoy an appetizer of soft pretzels and multi-grain mustard and have some cabbage rolls of schnitzel for your entrée!

Join us at the Ober Gatlinburg Restaurant at 1339 Ski Mountain Road to take part in OktOBERfest. Show times are on Monday through Thursday at 1:00PM and 5:00PM, and Friday through Sunday at 12:00PM, 2:00PM, 4:00PM and 6:00PM.

An additional fun activity would be to head to Ripley’s Haunted Adventure and get frightened by their show entitled “Backwoods Terror: You Just Made a Wrong Turn.” Beginning at 6:13 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, guests will enjoy a New Orleans style character parade of the most terrifying ghouls in Gatlinburg! A show dedicated to everything Halloween, the show is included with regular admission to Ripley’s Haunted Adventure.

On October 25th, the Pigeon Forge Community Center will be hosting its 11th Annual Safe Halloween in Pigeon Forge Celebration. The event will include a variety of kid-friendly games, a costume contest, a “not-so-haunted” house, hayride, live entertainment and, of course, lots of candy! Sponsored by local businesses, the event will be held from 6:00PM-9:00PM and is sure to be a blast!
