One of the newest and most exciting Pigeon Forge attractions is Goats On The Roof! A franchise originally opened in Tiger, Georgia, where it quickly became popular with families and local college students alike, this unique business now has a new location on Wears Valley Road in Sevier County.
Why is this attraction so popular?
Imagine driving down the road and seeing goats…on a roof! The idea is to draw visitors in while also bringing life through the stories of the different goats. Each goat has a name and unique personality, so it’s more fun to interact with them! Would you or the kids love to feed the goats? You can! By paying a small amount, you can have goat snacks dispensed into a can and then delivered up to the roof where an expectant goat is waiting!
What do they offer?
Goats On The Roof has a two story gift shop complete with T-shirts, homemade local jam, moonshine jelly, novelty hillbilly toys, and old-fashioned candies! They even offer Amish handcrafted furniture that you can sit in outside. If you haven’t seen Amish woodwork before, it is truly a work of art! Be sure to check out all of the home goods Goats on the Roof has to offer on the second floor of their gift shop! After you finish up your shopping, glance out the second floor windows and see all seven goats in their natural habitat. Don’t forget to feed the goats on your way out, and have a unique, fun, and memorable experience!
Go Gem Mining!
If you have never before sifted through sand and soil for sparkling gems, then you should definitely give gem mining a try! Discovering gems of all different shapes, sizes, and colors will create lasting memories for both kids and adults. This unique activity is a great way to spend time with family and friends while having fun and learning new things! All of the doors of the gem mining building are left open, so you can enjoy the fresh mountain air while also being protected from sun and rain.
Feeling hungry?
Make your way over to their sweet shop! They have a great selection of treats ranging from cookies to candies and everything in between. Grab a snack while you shop and gaze at the goats, get some fresh local treats as souvenirs for friends and family, or take home that piece of beautiful hand carved furniture you relaxed in while having your scoop of ice cream. Whatever you do at Goats on the Roof, you’re sure to have a memorable time!
