Picnic Wine Trail | Early June
Hit the Rocky Top Wine Trail for tours and tastings at 5 local wineries, and nosh on picnic treats along the way during the Picnic Wine Trail this summer! 

20th Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge | June 4 – 7
Pontiacs of all styles roll into Pigeon Forge for the Annual Pontiacs car show and swap meet – with all proceeds going towards St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! 

Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales | June 19 – August 2
The streets of Gatlinburg come alive with the sounds of the Smokies during summertime’s Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales! Costumed storytellers and musicians line the streets and offer stories and songs for passersby. 

Dollywood’s Summer Celebration | June 20 – August 2
Watch the night sky light up with fireworks, enjoy The Gazillion Bubble Show and special entertainment, fill up on tasty Southern treats, and stay a little later with extended park hours during Dollywood’s Summer Celebration! 


Gatlinburg’s 4th of July Midnight Parade & Fireworks | July 3 – 4

Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta | July 4

Great Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion | August 20 – 22

13th Annual Mountain Man Memorial March | April 24 – 25
Honor fallen service members at this 13th annual event, started in 2007 to honor a fallen classmate. ROTC units, active duty military, veterans, and others will gather to honor our heroes.

Smoky Mountain Wine Weekend | May 1 – 2
The Smoky Mountain Wine Weekend gives you a taste of the mountains, with locally made wines paired with some great local food. Enjoy samples along the Gatlinburg Wine Tour (limited) and during the Gatlinburg Smoky Mountains Wine Fest (open to all).

Hands-On Gatlinburg | May 1 – 3
The Smokies is all about art. Get in on the action during Hands-On Gatlinburg – the perfect time to try arts and crafts for yourself! Try some of the 40+ classes, from knitting, weaving, and molding to crocheting, carving, and more!

Dollywood Flower & Food Festival | May 8 – June 14
NEW for 2020 – Dollywood’s Flower & Food festival will feature flower and plant displays, interactive pieces, and seasonal springtime foods of the Smokies.

MayFest at Ober Gatlinburg | May 15 – 25
Mayfest at Ober Gatlinburg is another borrowed tradition (from the long-standing German celebration) that brings people together in the Smokies! Enjoy the Maypole dance, demonstrations from local crafters, kids’ activities, and a Biergarten.

Holiday Happenings: Upcoming 2019 Events in Pigeon Forge

Happy Holidays…almost. Halloween is fast approaching, which means Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all your favorite fall and winter holidays will be here before you know it. The holidays always sneak up on us too fast, right?!

We have a suggestion for your holidays this year: mix it up and come to the Great Smoky Mountains! There are SO MANY things to do here! Fall festivals, car shows, food and wine festivals, kid-friendly activities, parades…the list just goes on and on. And pair all that fun with the amazing cool-weather scenery of the Smokies (fall colors, anyone?!), and you just can’t beat a holiday in the mountains.

Dollywood Harvest Festival | Dollywood | September 27 – November 2
Included with regular park admission, Dollywood’s Harvest Festival puts a special touch to this wonderful time in the Smokies. Enjoy seasonal foods, live music, talented artists, the new Great Pumpkin Luminights, and the Southern Gospel Jubilee – the largest Southern gospel event in America!

Pigeon Forge Community Spooktacular Event | throughout Pigeon Forge | October 24
As you stroll along the Parkway, be sure to stop in at some of the local shops for some family-friendly trick or treating! Many shops will have candy and treats for the kiddos, and there will be many interactive Halloween displays and some costumed characters.

7th Annual Halloween at The Island | The Island | October 31
Stop by The Island for a costume contest, parade, and special candy maps that lead kids to their favorite treats at shops around The Island!

Pigeon Forge Winterfest | throughout Pigeon Forge | November 22, 2019 – February 17, 2020
Finish off the year at Pigeon Forge’s winter celebration, with the Trolley Tour of Lights, decorated shop windows, seasonal foods at holiday events, handmade gifts at craft shows, and more!

Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede | Dolly Parton’s Stampede | Now – December 31
If you’ve never been to Dolly Parton’s dinner show, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the holidays are a great time to visit. Their show is extra special this time of year, with holiday decorations, amazing holiday costumes, a live nativity, camels and angels, dueling North and South Pole elves, Santa, and a hearty holiday meal!


The Legend of Hallow Mountain | Anakeesta | Now – November 2
Anakeesta is one of the newest attractions in the area, and it will be especially fun this fall! All day you’ll find character visits (non scary for the kids), crafts and activities, fall foods, and all the favorite Anakeesta attractions. At night, enjoy the new Firefly Forest, gem mining, Halloween movies at the overlook, and haunted zipline and mountain coaster rides! Even Vista Gardens becomes Hallow Mountain Graveyard for guests 12 and older!

Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival | downtown Gatlinburg | Now – November 21
Celebrate all things fall with foods, music, decorations, and family fun all throughout downtown Gatlinburg!

OktOBERfest at Ober | Ober Gatlinburg | September 27 – November 3
Grab a bier and brat at this all-things-Bavarian festival at Gatlinburg’s Ober Gatlinburg attraction! There will be live music, seasonal and Bavarian foods, German biers, kid-friendly fun, a Bier Garten (21 and over), games, dancing, and so much more!

Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament | Gatlinburg | October 4-5
Cast a line in the cool waters of the Smokies for some fun and friendly competition at this annual fishing tournament!

Ripley’s Fright Nights | Ripley’s Haunted Adventure | October 4 – 27
Get your spook on any night during October at Ripley’s Haunted Adventure Fright Nights! They kick up their scaring during the year’s spookiest month, so get ready!

Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair | Gatlinburg Convention Center | October 10 – 27
Meet local artisans, find the perfect holiday gifts, and watch talented artists at work during this annual favorite event!

Pigeon Forge Glen Miller Orchestra Event

On May 28th the city of Pigeon Forge will welcome the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra to the stage. The orchestra will perform at 8pm at the Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The Glenn Miller orchestra will arrive in Pigeon Forge shortly after the Tea Party Convention departs. With such a spectacular view of the Smoky Mountains, it’s no wonder there’s so much going on in Pigeon Forge.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is said to be the most sought after band in the world. The orchestra had the most hits in one year than any other act in the history of recording. The hits included “A String of Pearls”. Not only did they break records, the Glen Miller Orchestra also received the first Gold Record for “Chatanooga Choo Choo” that same year.

Imagine coming to town with the one you love. You drop off the bags at the cabin and make your way out for a night out on the town. You dine at the luxurious Peddler in Gatlinburg and then drive over to Country Tonite Theatre for a beautiful orchestra experience. Then when you’re done you go back to the cabin and slip into the hot tub for a relaxing dip. What a nice vacation that would be!
