Upcoming Events – Pigeon Forge TN

April is a wonderful time in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! The spring weather brings hundreds of families into the mountain resort town, all looking for things to do and places to see. Lucky for you, if you’re visiting April 6th through the next few weekends, there are no shortages of fun, family-friendly events to attend!

First of all, the famous Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament is back for the 14th year in a row! Beginning April 6th and continuing through April 7th, the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament begins at sunrise each morning and ends at 4:00PM. The stream is stocked with 10,000 trout and more than $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the lucky fisherman! Gather in the park to watch the fisherman measure their catch and see who the grand prizes will be awarded to!

Another great family event are the Guided Hikes and Tours of Gatlinburg. April 2nd through 20th, register by calling and enjoy a guided hike with a local hiking guide through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Trails such as the Trillium Gap Trail and Cove Hardwood Nature Trail will be explored, and hikes range in interests such as bird watching and “walk with a naturalists.” Hikes are free, however, the spaces fill up quickly so call (865) 436-0505 to save your spot today.

Are you a disc golf pro? The Go Green Disc Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, April 21st from 12:30 to 5:00PM. The fun event will be held at Mills Park and on site registration begins before the event – only $20 for adults and $15 for children. Participants will get a t-shirt and will receive information on ways to Go Green!

Veterans Day is in November, but that doesn’t stop Pigeon Forge from celebrating the day the men and women who fought for our country. April 15th through 17th, the city of Pigeon Forge will be home to hundreds of Vietnam Veterans in the “Welcome Home Vietnam” event. Sponsored by Mrs. Dolly Parton, the Veteran’s parade will tun through the Pigeon Forge Parkway. Enjoy live music, dozens of floats and exhibitions, and confetti blasts at this wonderful event.
