2017 Father’s Day Fun in Pigeon Forge

When we think Mother’s Day, we usually think flowers, bath products, or gifts that pamper Mom a bit. For Father’s Day, our minds usually go to tools, gadgets, or activities that offer some father-daughter or father-son time. We think Mom and Dad deserve a little of both: gifts they love and quality time with their kids. So in honor of Father’s Day 2017 – coming up in just a month (June 18) – here’s a roundup of our top ideas for Dad, starting with a weekend in the Great Smoky Mountains.

What better way to treat (and maybe surprise) Dad than by sweeping him away for a weekend of relaxation and fun in Pigeon Forge? With great fishing spots, tons of outdoors and electronics stores, laser tag, go karts, arcades, distilleries, comfortable cabins, live music, fun attractions, and great scenery, it’s a great fit no matter what your dad is into.

Cool Cabins for Dad
Whether you’re going budget friendly or want to splurge, getting away with just you and your dad or need some extra space for his friends, we have the Pigeon Forge cabin for you. Even if you’re not planning a trip over Father’s Day weekend, you can plan a trip later in the summer to treat your dad. Our cabins have everything you could want for a fun weekend with Dad – from private indoor pools, home theaters, and rec rooms with game tables to outdoor hot tubs, grills, and comfortable living rooms where you can hang out and unwind.

In the Great Outdoors
A trip to the Great Smoky Mountains isn’t complete without some fresh air and fun in the great outdoors. Clock some quality time together with fishing, golfing at Bent Creek Golf Course (get discounts when you stay with us!), hiking on the some of the 800+ miles of trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, biking through Cades Cove, flying through the trees with Smoky Mountain Ziplines (save when you stay with us), horseback riding, or floating down the Little Pigeon River.

Play Like a Kid
Dad works hard, so let him play like a kid for Father’s Day. Pigeon Forge is the place to do it, with laser tag, go karts, arcades, and fun attractions. Get an old-time photo together, play around at LazerPort Fun Center, get a famous Ogle dog at Fannie Farkle’s, race around at NASCAR SpeedPark, play mini golf, have fun at Flyaway Indoor Skydiving, explore underseas at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies (discount when you stay with us), or laugh it up at one of the great dinner shows in downtown Pigeon Forge.

Music & Moonshine in the Mountains
If your dad wants nothing more than to kick back with a drink and listen to some music, the Smoky Mountains is the place for him. Local distilleries have popped up in the area, and live music almost always goes in hand-in-hand with moonshine in the mountains. In Gatlinburg, sample some moonshine and sit down in the Ole Smoky Moonshine Holler for toe-tapping music. In Pigeon Forge, Ole Smoky Moonshine at The Island features a stage with live music throughout the year. The show fountain at The Island (right next to Ole Smoky Moonshine) also has rocking chairs and plays music that the water’s choreographed to. Sugarlands Distilling Company offers tours in the heart of Gatlinburg, Doc Collier Moonshine has an impressive lineup of flavors, and Smoky Mountain Brewery is the place for a beer, pizza, and live music.

Gifts & Gear for Dad
On top of a fun weekend away, Father’s Day is the perfect time to treat dad to some new tools, a gadget, some outdoor gear, or whatever he’s into! Here are just a few shops in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg that are sure to have some great gifts for your dad.
