A Father’s Day 1-Day Getaway:

Fishing in the Smokies
Stocked to full capacity with trout and filled with the most relaxing scenery, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a fantastic area to fish! Pick up your license at The Smoky Mountain Angler along with all the fishing supplies you need, or bring your own poles and tackle boxes after getting your license online. Pack up the cooler, lawn chairs, and fishing gear and head to the river to treat dad to a fun-filled, relaxing day of fishing.

Cades Cove Cycling Tour
The Saturday before Father’s Day, the 11-mile Loop Road around the iconic mountain valley of Cades Cove is totally closed to motor vehicles before 10 a.m. Take advantage of this prime wildlife viewing time, quiet roads without tons of traffic (this area is the most popular destination in the park!), and Cades Cove’s bike rentals. Tour the 4-mile, 8-mile, or the full 11-mile loop to explore the preserved historical cabin community nestled among the dreamy rolling valley surrounded by lush forestry and majestic mountains. Dad is sure to enjoy the breathtaking views of the park while enjoying a little exercise with the kids as well.

Father’s Day Weekend for Mom and Dad:

Romantic 1-Bedroom Cabins
Sometimes the best gift dad can get is some time away with mom, and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Cabins can provide the perfect weekend hideaway. With amenities like bubbling hot tubs, large jetted tubs, and deck swings looking out over incredible Smoky Mountain views, your hard-working dad is sure to appreciate the weekend of quality R&R (and mom won’t mind tagging along for it). Many of our 1-bedroom cabins are budget-friendly, too, making an impromptu vacay for dad totally affordable.

Great Steaks in the Smokies
While dad and mom are in the Smoky Mountains, tip them off on some of the best places in the area to cut into a delicious, mouthwatering steak. The Peddler Steakhouse in Gatlinburg has the atmosphere and menu to make for a lovely evening of dining. Located in the original Ogle family cabin on the river, The Peddler Steakhouse also boasts savory seafood and chicken dishes to enjoy by the stone fireplace or in view of the babbling stream. Or tell them to check out Crystelle Creek, also nestled on a river, but resting by a majestic 150-foot tree and koi pond. This beautifully landscaped restaurant touts the reputation of some of the area’s best trout, steaks, and Italian dishes. With gorgeous indoor and outdoor dining, your parents will love being treated to the best all-around dining experience!

Father’s Day Weekend with the Whole Fam:

Large Lodges
Make it a multi-generation affair this Father’s Day and plan a large family getaway to the Smokies! Splitting the cost of a large group lodge makes this option not just affordable, but also gives everyone a great reason to spend time together in Pigeon Forge for Father’s Day. Many of our large group lodgings boast awesome amenities dads will love: big screen TVs, home theaters, plush living room sofas to nap on, and stunning mountain views from in front of the grill.

Hilarious Dinner Shows
Not everyone loves dad’s cornball humor, but there are some really funny dinner theater shows that include his taste in laughs along with the whole family’s! The Great Smoky Mountain Murder Mystery Show includes good food, murderous mishaps, hilarious misunderstandings, and an interactive act where each table competes to be the evening’s Super Sleuth. Take dad over to the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud, where you will pick a side to root for while you dig into 4 mouthwatering courses.

Fun Cabin Cookout
Pool, mountain views, sizzling burgers and steaks, fresh mountain air, and ample space for everyone to relax, play, drink, and laugh together – the perfect Father’s Day cabin cookout! Many of our large lodges boast indoor pools or community pool access, just use the filter in your search! Either way, a cabin cookout with the whole family is great because it’s got everything dads could want: the great outdoors, good food, maybe some growlers from Smoky Mountain Brewery, and, most importantly, all his kids and family together having a great time.
