Dollywood’s Splash Country

We know that you’ve heard of Dollywood, but what about Dollywood’s Splash Country? This offshoot of the Dollywood theme park is a water park lover’s dream. Named one of America’s “Must See” waterparks, Dollywood Splash Country is a delight for children of all ages…adults included, too!

Unlike some water parks that cater only to the children, Splash Country features retreat and canopy rentals for the adults to kick back and relax while the kids splash in the nearby water. Here is a little summary of what these luxurious extras include…

  • A television and ceiling fan
  • Dining table and chairs
  • Two lounge chairs
  • Secure storage
  • Delivery of food and drink – just order from the phone provided inside your retreat!

Canopies

  • 65 square feet of shade
  • Two lounge chairs
  • Storage locker

Are you looking to really kick back and relax? Enjoy one of Splash Country’s newest additions…massages! Schedule a 30, 60, or 90 minute massage by a licensed massage therapist at your private retreat. What better way to relax than with a poolside massage?

Now, on to the fun and games! Splash Country boasts more than 23 water slides and rides, ranging from adrenaline pumping to toddler friendly. One of our favorites is called River Rush – it is Tennessee’s first and ONLY water coaster, opening this May of 2013!

Your older kids will love to race on the Slick Rock Racer, catch a wave in the 25,000 square foot wave pool, or get soaked on the Mountain Scream. Some of the rides you can enjoy together include the Raging River Rapids, Swiftwater Run, Wild River Falls and the Big Bear Plunge.

You can’t leave the little ones out of the fun, so check out Little Creek Falls. Kid-friendly, featuring a children’s pool, child slides and activity center, Little Creek Falls is ideal for the younger children. An additional kid-friendly area includes The Cascades, which is an 8,000 square foot lagoon style pool with 25 interactive elements, ranging from a waterfall, geyser, water jets and grotto slides.

Looking for a little more relaxing fun? Take a float on the Downbound Float Trip, where you can grab an intertube and enjoy a leisurely float down the river. The float is 1,500 feet and includes a 200-foot waterfall to cool and refresh you as you float around the river.

All of the play in the water will surely stir up your appetite! Luckily, Splash Country offers a variety of dining options to soothe your rumbling tummy. Check out the Campsite Grill for burgers and chicken, Dogs N’ Taters for a tasty hot dog, Miss Mamies for some pizza and breadsticks, and High Country for nachos with all of your favorite toppings. Dessert and cool treats are abound in Splash Country, as well, and include smoothies, slushies, ice cream, cotton candy, cookies and more!

Splash Country opens on May 11, 2013 and offers day passes in addition to season tickets. Visit the Splash Country website here: https://www.dollywood.com/waterpark.aspx for more information and plan your trip today!
