The April showers have brought May flowers…and lots of wonderful events to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! May is one of our favorite times of year in the Smoky Mountains, with abundant sunshine, blooming flowers and the animals sleepily emerging from their winter naps.

From the famous Dolly Homecoming Parade to Family Fest in the Smokies and everything in between, this mountain town offers a never ending variety of fun events for you and your family to attend. On this year’s vacation, get out and enjoy the town and mingle with locals and other visitors at one of Pigeon Forge’s wonderful events!
Dolly’s Homecoming Parade
Pigeon Forge native Dolly Parton is well known and ever loved in the town. And, who wouldn’t want to say that they got to wave at Dolly while on vacation? Bring a chair and snag a spot on the Pigeon Forge Parkway between traffic light number three and six. The parade includes marching bands, decorated floats, horses, baton twirlers and much, much more! This year’s parade is on Friday May 10th and begins at 6:00PM sharp!
Family Fest in the Smokies
Purchase your tickets now and enjoy this three day spectacular in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Featuring concerts and worship services, speakers and more, this incredible gospel concert is brought to you by Bill and Gloria Gaither. Held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center from May 24th through the 26th, festivities begin at 7:00PM on Friday.
FunFest Parade
In case the Dolly Parade just wasn’t enough for you, head to the annual Fun Fest Parade on Saturday May 11th. Brought to you by the world-famous Shriner’s organization, the parade features all of the well-known icons – including the tiny cars! The parade will begin at 9AM and takes place on the Pigeon Forge Parkway.
Chevy Classics Round Up Car Show
For the automobile lover in all of us, head to The Inn at Christmas Place and check out some beautiful classic vehicles. The Chevy Classics Round Up Car Show features beautiful resorted cars from your glory days, all competing for prizes and recognition! This year’s show starts May 16th and continues through the 19th.
Bloomin’ Barbeque and Bluegrass
What’s better than free admission and free live music? Nothing, we thought…until you add some of the area’s best barbeque into the mix! Barbeque cook-off teams as far away as Indiana and Alabama will travel to the town of Sevierville May 17th and 18th to show off their skills and delight your taste buds. Bring your family and enjoy some beautiful bluegrass music while enjoying some award winning barbeque!
