Offering dozens of attractions, restaurants, and outdoor activities, Pigeon Forge is the perfect destination for some quality father-son time. If you’re looking for activities that are adventurous, high action, outdoorsy, and require some team work, Pigeon Forge has it! Read on to find out about some of the Pigeon Forge’s best attractions for a weekend with the boys.
Located in Sevierville, TN, the nationally known Floyd Garrett’s Muscle Car Museum features cars from the 50s, 60s, and 70s – with more than 90 muscle cars on display! The museum was reviewed in Car Collector magazine as being “One of the finest collection[s] of American muscle and stock car-based race machines,” and it’s open 7 days a week, excluding Christmas and Thanksgiving. They’re open January-March from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April-December 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Less than 15 minutes down the road, Adventure Raceway has two things boys love – going fast and running into things! The Go-Kart Track features an elevated wooden track that spirals along three stories. The Bumper Boats are a great way to cool down in the summer months. During season, the speedway is open from 9 a.m. until midnight. Off season hours are 9:30 a.m. until midnight. Go-Karts and Bumper Boats require only one ticket to ride!

If you love spending time in the great outdoors, then head to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for hiking, biking, picnicking, and horseback riding. Cades Cove has an 11-mile loop that guests can drive, bike, or walk (biking and walking is permitted until 10:00 a.m. every Saturday and Wednesday from May-September), and it is home to wildlife, historic buildings, and several creeks. You can explore the park along the more than 800 miles of trails, and boys will love the ranger-led programs offered during the year.
Looking for some peaceful, relaxing time outside? Try casting a line along the 2,115 miles of streams within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Fishing is permitted year round in the park from 30 minutes before official sunrise to 30 minutes after official sunset. A valid fishing license is required for either Tennessee or North Carolina.
*Fishing is allowed from all streams in the park except Tennessee and Lynn Camp Prong (upstream) where it meets with Thunderhead Prong.

Just a five-minute drive or 10-minute walk from Adventure Raceway, Pigeon Forge’s Lazer Port Fun Center is the perfect place for dads and sons to spend the day. It boasts arcade games, go karts, lazer tag, and blacklight miniature golf.
