Ober Gatlinburg – Opening Tomorrow

Skiing is now available near our Pigeon Forge, TN cabin rentals!!! We are so excited to announce that Ober Gatlinburg has officially set their open date for their snow sports activities. Ober Gatlinburg announced that their ski slopes and snowtubing lanes will be open on December 10, 2011.

Coming to Pigeon Forge during the winter season is great. The cities of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg love the Christmas season so Christmas lights and wreaths can be seen all over the area. Not only is the city of Pigeon Forge decked out in all things Christmas, there are also plenty of fun Christmas activities available to visitors of the area. One of our favorites is Ober Gatlinburg, and we’re excited that the ski and snowboarding lanes have been announced as being opened tomorrow!

Ski equipment rental starts at $15.00 for night time rental, $19 for weekdays, and $22 for weekends.
Tram tickets start at $10 for adults, $8.50 for children from 7 to 11 years of age, and free for children under 7.
Ice skating costs $9 per three hour session.
Snow tubing costs $20 per session from Monday to Friday and $25 on Saturday and Sunday.

Ober Gatlinburg is the ski park in the Smoky Mountains. Pigeon Forge visitors can drive to Gatlinburg, park their cars, and ride the Ober tram up to the park. Once visitors arrive they’ll have plenty to do. Ober Gatlinburg has an indoor play center that has a skating rink, gift shop, leather shop, and a video game arcade. It also houses a restaurant and several snack stands. Outside, visitors will find the Ober Gatlinburg ski and snowboard slopes and the snow tubing lanes. Ski slopes include nine trails that are serviced by two quads, one double and one surface lift according to the Ober Gatlinburg website.
