Pigeon Forge – Mountain Quiltfest

The Annual Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge is coming up! Gear up for an exciting quilting experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This year marks the 17th annual celebration that brings in up to 20,000 visitors in Pigeon forge, Tennessee. The 2011 Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge will be held from March 8th through the 13th.  Visitors to the Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge can attend over 80 classes and seminars. The Quiltfest will also feature a Pigeon Forge vendor mall. And of course, a highlight to many Pigeon Forge Quiltfest visitors’ visit is the quilt show that shows off over 300 quilted pieces.

Intructors for the classes and seminars at the Pigeon Forge, TN Mountain Quiltfest include Bonnie Hunger, Darlene Zimmerman, Jody Houghton, Elise Campbell, Charlotte Anderson, Sally Collins, Klaudeen Hansen, and Jo Morton.

Visitors to the Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge will be able to view and shop for all kinds of quilted items and crafts at the event. They will also be able to attend lectures and show and tell presentations.

Quilting classes are available for all levels of quilters. From beginner to advanced, you’ll find something for everyone at the Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge.

The quilts on display at Mountain Quiltfest are entered into a competition that includes $20,000 in prizes. Categories for the competition include: Small Professional, youth quilts, small quilts, medium quilts, large quilts, non-traditional quilts, hand quilted bed quilts, machine quilted bed quilts, quilted for hire small quilts, and quilted for hire large quilts.

The Pigeon Forge event will follow this general schedule:

Sneak peak on Tuesday March 8 at 6pm. Shopping opens up.

Antique quilts to be on display Wednesday through Saturday at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm and Sunday at 10am and 1pm

Quilt appraisals by a AQS certified appraiser at 30 minute session intervals for $40 a piece (Thursday through Sunday)

Quilting classes and lectures from Tuesday to Sunday at Music Road Convention Center

Show and Tell (Friday at 7pm) at the Grand Magestic Theatre
